On February 8, Feldschlösschen celebrated its 130th birthday with the inauguration of a historical beer cellar in Rheinfelden.

The beer cellar is a rock cave which was chiselled and carved out of stone (in Magden, a village not far from the Feldschlösschen brewery) by Theophil Roniger, one of the founders of Feldschlösschen. He used the beer cellar during the first years of the brewery to store ice and beer (before the time of modern refrigeration technique). During the past few months, the beer cellar underwent reconstruction and was now officially opened during a party for the Feldschlösschen employees in Rheinfelden. The renovation of the historical cellar shows that tradition is written with a capital «T» at Feldschlösschen. In the future the cellar will be shown to visitors during guided tours through the brewery.
