The TV advertising for Carlsberg has won a respected ad industry award. The spot entitled «Bus» premiered in April at the International Advertising & Multimedia Festival in Montreux, where it was singled out as the only Swiss entry to win an award in the «Beverages» category. The Montreux festival jury reviewed a total of 2,512 different advertisements submitted from 33 countries. In the award-winning spot, thespian honors go to the players of the Swiss National Football Team, who can be seen in their first-ever nationwide advertising campaign. The ad depicts the players stopping the team bus to pick up a football fan who happens to be enjoying a Carlsberg as the bus is passing by. «The TV spot uses a football theme to humorously illustrate the campaign’s premise ‹In a Carlsberg world, there’s no such thing as a quiet beer›», explains Massimo Di Dia, Senior Brand Manager Carlsberg. The Geneva-based advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi Simko created the «Bus» spot for Feldschlösschen Beverages Ltd., the company which produces the Carlsberg brand for the Swiss market. Since July 2004, Carlsberg has been a sponsor and the official beer of the Swiss National Football Team. The Carlsberg campaign, featuring the players Murat Yakin, Johann Vogel, Patrick Müller, Ricardo Cabanas, Marco Streller as well as the National Team’s popular trainer Köbi Kuhn, comprises two TV spots and two print ads.
